Kyoto International Hall was established to hold international conferences as well as national conferences and exchange goods. The building expresses Japan's ambition to showcase the achievements of modern Japanese architecture internationally, represents a successful attempt to combine modern architecture with tradition in Japan in the 1960s, and is currently listed as a national architectural cultural heritage. We examine this "old building" of the 1960s precisely to review the history and look forward to the future.
